2018 Tour of Utah Prologue Results & Recap
Prologue of the 2018 Tour of Utah is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.

Van Garderen takes Tour de France form to Utah\nBy Clara Beard
The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah started with a fast and furious 5.3 kilometer time trial to kick things off for the 14th edition of the race. Tejay van Garderen, brought his Tour de France legs to the prologue, and won the time trial ahead of his teammate and US time trial champion, Joey Rosskopf. Tom Bohli rounded out BMC podium in third.
With temperatures touching the high 90s, the short time trial was a welcome start to seven days of racing Tour of Utah. Most riders put in six and a half to seven minute efforts, with van Garderen clocking a 6:27, four seconds ahead of Rosskopf.
Finishing in fourth place, seven seconds down from van Garderen, Neilson Powless (Lotto NL Jumbo) starts tomorrow’s stage leading the best young rider competition. His teammate, Pascal Eenkhoorn took fifth and is right behind Powless in the youth competition.
Starting early in the day, Bohli set the fastest time of 6:33 to quickly unseat Gavin Mannion (UHC) who finished second overall the year prior. His teammate, Serghei Tvetcov started the day as another favorite for the stage and overall, slotted into second, five seconds off the pace. \n\t\nTomorrow’s stage starts and finishes in Cedar City taking in two significant climbs over the course of 168.3 kilometers. The Category 1 climb up Parowan Canyon through the ski resort town of Brian Head into Cedar Breaks National Monument climbs 4500 ft in 15 miles with some pitches hitting 15 percent. This will also be the highest climb of the week topping out at 10,600’.\n
