Course Preview
It will be time to get the turbo trainers out to warm up for the start of stage 5, as this route travels immediately uphill after the starting gun to the summit of col du Pillon (15.7km), which is a gentle grade of 3.1 percent. From there, the riders will have time to regroup on a long descent and flat midsection before tackling the HC categorised Route de Chermoran, 120 kilometres into the stage. The race culminates with another big climb to a mountain top finish at Leukerbad.
