Course Preview
At 130 kilometres, stage 5 is a relatively shorter road race stage compared to previous days, but it doesn't make it any less difficult. Starting in Grenoble, the route passes over three big climbs before finishing in Valmorel and another summit finish. Two category 2 climbs greet the riders from the word "go," the first coming just four kilometres into the stage. After they crest the second cat 2 soon after, the race turns flat before the finale, a 12.7 kilometre ascent to Valmorel averaging seven percent.
