Course Preview

For the first time in two years, 70th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné starts with a 6.6 kilometre flat prologue. Out of the start house, the riders will have a fast start to proceedings until the last kilometre, which is a false flat. With 500 metres to go, the road kicks up even more to about five percent. Despite the flat profile, the route has some technical moments. At three kilometres in, right before the intermediate split at 3.5km, the riders will negotiate two sharp turns as well as two U-turns with less than a kilometre to go. The first rider out of the gates starts at 12:08pm local time. \n
