Course Preview
Stage 6 features another realtively flat stage, built for a long breakaway attempt to outsmart the sprinters, or a fast and furious bunch gallop to the line in Troyes. Beginning in Vesoul, the 216 km route hops over two categorised 4 climbs over the course of the day.
Frankie Andreu's take: On the previous day many of the sprinters will have rode easy up the final climb locking in on this sprinters stage. Considered dead flat by TDF standards the sprinters will have another chance to prove themselves the fastest. Without a doubt crashes in the first five days will be a factor and full squads will have an advantage in the chase and leadout. Time gaps between some of the riders will be large so the sprinter teams will have to make sure not to botch up the finish leading into Troyes.
