Course Preview
The day after the first rest day, the riders will ease back into the Tour de France with another relatively flat stage from Périgueux to Bergera, 178 km in total. The 10th stage will be another chance for the sprinters (who made it through the first mountain stage) to nab top honors in Bergera.
Frankie Andreu's take: I talked earlier about getting into the rhythm of the race. Well, the rest days throw everything off. Thankfully, this stage is a flat day and a day of transition for many to find their racing legs again. Many riders are starting to feel tired and the fresh legs from the start of the race have disappeared. Again, the sprinters could have a chance here, but only if they are able to rally and convince their team to chase long and hard to bring back the inevitable breakaway.
