Course Preview

The final stage of the Tour kicks off in Mantes-la-Ville and concludes 120 kilometers later on the Champs-Élysées. After a brief hiatus, the world's largest cycling race returns to Paris.

Last year's Tour de France wrapped up in Nice due to the Paris Olympics, where Tadej Pogacar highlighted a remarkable three weeks with his sixth stage win and overall triumph.

Unlike the previous year’s time trial finish, this year is expected to favor the sprinters once again. The last instance of an attacker winning in Paris dates back to 2005 when Aleksandr Vinokourov outpaced the chasing peloton on the Champs-Élysées.

As always, the lead-up is low-key, featuring a few photo opportunities and some celebratory champagne toasts. Once the cyclists enter the final circuit of just under 7 kilometers, the tempo accelerates. With eight swift laps and various attacks, the riders bid farewell to their fans.

The past three Tours concluding in Paris have all seen winners from Flanders. Jordi Meeus took the victory in 2023, succeeding Jasper Philipsen and Wout van Aert. Previous successes include Sam Bennett (2020), Caleb Ewan (2019), Alexander Kristoff (2018), Dylan Groenewegen (2017), André Greipel (2016, 2015), Marcel Kittel (2014, 2013), and Mark Cavendish (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009).
