Course Preview
La Vuelta serves the last stage in the Netherlands, which is yet another opportunity for fast men to shine. The race starst and finishes in Breda, while the route amounts to 193.2 kilometres.
The last pro-peloton finish in Breda took place in 2015, when André Greipel won the 2nd stage of the Eneco Tour ahead of Jacopo Guarnieri and Tom Boonen. The last time that a pro-peloton set off from the city in the south of the Netherlands was in the Eneco Tour’s successor. The 1st stage of the BinckBank Tour traveled from Breda to Venray with Peter Sagan taking the spoils.
The riders clip into their pedals in the Breda Castle. They continue to and, literally, through the Great Church, also known as the Church of Our Lady, as the peloton will clip out of the pedals before walking through the church. Obviously, this is during the neutralization.
The start is given at the south side of town before a counter clockwise loop leads the riders though the Noord-Brabant province. Without facing any real obstacles La Vuelta re-enters Breda from the west. Via the Ettensebaan and Kapittelweg the peloton storms towards the city centre for a likely sprint finish at the Chassé Theatre.
