3D Live Tracking
In the 20 years I've been building web and mobile apps for following professional cycling, I feel like we have created some pretty amazing things. First ever online live video of pro cycling. First ever GPS tracking of individual riders. First ever mobile app covering a race. First ever live power and heart rate data. First and still only app that lets you pause and replay the race to synchronize with tape-delayed race video via our Time Machine feature.
And then 2026 came along. What started as a "simple" project to show 3D previews of the race routes evolved into a revolutionary way to follow a race live: 3D Live Tracking.

You still get all the great data you have come to expect from Tour Tracker, but now you get it set on top of a stunning live, animated view of the race itself. See the terrain they are riding through. Grab the camera and create your own custom perspective of the race. Zoom out to see an overall picture. Zoom in to see the race from the riders' perspective.
For a fan without access to live video, it creates an immersive experience that puts you in the helicopter covering the race - and indeed let's you control that helicopter's position. No matter how good Tour Tracker might be, I've never just sat staring at the screen showing the gaps and our live commentary. But I have without doubt found myself staring at the 3D view mid-race for an hour.
Even for fans watching live video, the view provides something that you can't get in the video: the ability to control the camera. Want to see what that 44 switchback climb up Stelvio really looks like? Be my guest! Want to position the camera right behind the leaders like a drone might show you? Rock on, dude. And of course you can pause and rewind the 3D Live Tracking using Time Machine. 😄
Indeed, here is a link that launches the web version of the app using Time Machine to relive the moment Pogi dropped everyone on stage 6 of the Tour this year: https://live.tourtrackerprocycling.com/?event=2026-tour-de-france&stage_number=6&distance_to_go=41&show_3d=true
We hope you enjoy using 3D Live Tracking as much as I have enjoyed building it for our fans!
